The other day, I ran into a boy I dated for a brief time in college. He's now a musician of some renown (sorry, I'm not naming names). We chatted briefly, and I tried to remember what attracted me to him back then. And I have to chalk that one up to the folly of youth.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm sure every college girl goes through the cool musician phase. They're so creative. So confident. So free-spirited. And better yet, they're the ones that make all your friends completely jealous.
But they're also chaotic, self-centered, aimless, and likely to be the ones that sleep with your friends. I dumped mine when it became clear that he had no intention of giving up his silly dreams of becoming a big rock star. No regrets. He may actually be a big rock star now, but that's not the kind of rock that gives you any stability.
Any old flames you're not regretting these days?
